College Counseling

The goal of college counseling is to support each student's transition to a college that offers the best fit for her talents, needs, and abilities. This journey begins with activities that promote student strengths and foster intellectual interests, and culminates with matriculation to college. The counselors will walk with each student on this journey and provide support every step of the way. Graduates of Villa Duchesne are exceptionally well-prepared for college level coursework at some of the most selective post-secondary institutions across the country and around the world.

With two counselors for a senior class averaging 60 students, students can count on individual attention and assistance with every aspect of the college admission process, including college selection, essay development, interviewing skills, scholarship and financial aid applications, admission testing, and campus visit preparation. Grade-level seminars meet throughout the school year to offer structured guidance through the college search process by addressing topics such as career research, resume development, application case studies, financial planning, and college student life.

Villa Duchesne hosts more than 100 admissions representatives virtually and in person  each year and has partnered with area schools to host the West County Private Schools College Fair. To stay abreast of current admissions trends, our college counselors regularly attend and present at professional conferences and visit college campuses throughout the US and abroad.
