Walkthrough Rendering of the Schaefer Family Student Life Center, starting in the Back Bowl of the 1929 Main Building, into the new spaces of the terrace, Danis Atrium, Johnson Family Café, and Theater.
The School is proud to partner with Fox Architects and A.J. Brown on the Schaefer Family Student Life Center, an 11,800 square foot project, including a 285 seat theater, two-story atrium, outdoor terrace overlooking the back bowl, student café, La Boutique, an art gallery, scene shop, loading dock, and dressing rooms.
The project is part renovation of the 1929 Main Building's original gym and auditorium (once called "the AV Room"), and former Dean of Students' Office, and expands off the West Wing. The project will not go into the Back Bowl and the time honored tradition of Maypole will be able to be held in the Back Bowl for generations to come once construction is complete, with a beautiful new terrace to make viewing the tradition even better.
Construction began in August 2021 and is the Schaefer Family Student Life Center is projected to be completed and ready to welcome students in the Fall of 2022.
